Overview of Counselling Offered

CBT, MBCT & Psychotherapy

Firstly, thank you for visiting my website - I hope my services will be of real value to you.

I offer counselling and therapy in the Manchester area to adults who could benefit from the following approaches:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
  • Person-Centred / Humanistic Psychotherapy

People who can benefit from these therapies may be experiencing the following conditions:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety Disorders: including Health Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia or Specific Phobias.
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Body Dysmorphic Disorder
  • Low self-esteem

I believe that the above conditions are the consequences of aversive experiences that may include oppression, exploitation and injustice.

I also have specific experience in working with the following:

  • Childhood Trauma / Bullying
  • Work Place Bullying

My Values

At the heart of my own values is a respect for all people, and my dearest belief that each person has the ability, courage, competence, and strength to find a way forward in respect of what is meaningful for them.

About our sessions

I offer individual sessions of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. After the initial consultation, we will set a contract on the agreed number of sessions, and book in dates. The sessions will last 50 minutes.

I also offer Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) either for individuals wishing to pursue an equivalent of an eight week course as a general course of face to face therapy, or as an eight week course for groups of two to three people. I can also give one-off sessions of MBCT for individuals or groups who would like a taster into Mindfulness.

I use the Mindfulness manual of the eight week course, ‘Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression’ devised by Segal, Williams & Teasdale (2013) as part of the therapy.
